Tip of the Day

XeFM shows a short tip about one of its features when it starts — at most once per day. The rotation opens with a Welcome tip introducing the dual-pane model and pointing at the Help dialog, then steps through the rest of the features one launch at a time: search, filtering, favorites, archives, comparing, remote file systems, and more.

You can also open it anytime from Help ▸ Tip of the Day… in the menu bar.

Usage

• ←/→ — previous / next tip (the position counter shows where you are)
• ↑/↓, Page Up/Down — scroll, if a tip overflows a small window
• Space — toggle Don’t show tips at startup (clicking the checkbox works too)
• Enter or Escape — close (clicking outside the dialog also closes it)

Don’t show again

Check Don’t show tips at startup and XeFM stops opening the dialog on launch. Nothing is lost: Help ▸ Tip of the Day… still opens it on demand, and unchecking the box there turns the startup tips back on.

What XeFM remembers

• Tips you have already seen are not repeated: the rotation resumes at the next unseen tip, and browsing ahead with → counts as seeing them.
• The dialog opens at startup at most once per calendar day, no matter how many times you launch XeFM.

Key names shown in the tips come from your live key bindings, so if you rebind an action in ~/.xefm/config.py, the tips quote your keys.
